The Center for Responsible Business at the Haas School seeks to promote responsible business leadership by providing students with experiential learning opportunities and the tools to successfully integrate responsible business principles into their daily work, and by supplying companies with fresh perspectives and new approaches to responsible business leadership through interactive projects.
Jo Mackness, Executive Director of the Center said "We're delighted that Erik Peterson has chosen to join our Senior Advisory Board. The Peterson family has a long history of supporting Haas and the Center for Responsible Business and we are very grateful. With over a third of MBA students choosing to come to Haas to pursue a career in social impact, we're eager to offer them engagement opportunities with diverse and influential companies such as Aureos that are changing value-creation models and transforming business in a positive way."
Other organizations represented on the Senior Advisory Board include Acumen Fund, Business for Social Responsibility, Chevron, Dow Chemical, Hewlett Packard, Gap, Levis Strauss & Co, Sustainability and Wal-Mart.
"I am very excited to join the Center’s Advisory Board, as sustainable investing and corporate responsibility continues to be an issue of growing importance to our investors, our partners, and the emerging market societies in which we operate" said Mr. Peterson. "Aureos' internal ESG metrics seek to address and measure similar issues, and we’ve been very pleased with the results of a recent project which we carried out jointly with Haas students, seeking to identify best business practices to reach bottom of the pyramid healthcare recipients in Africa.".
