Pancake House Inc. (PHI) – www.pancakehouse.com.ph - is a Philippines-based food franchise with more than 78 restaurants under the ‘Pancake House’ and ‘Dencio’s’ brand names. PHI listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange in 2000 and acquired Dencio’s in 2004. With the proceeds of the Aureos South East Asia Fund investment it then acquired a controlling equity stake in ‘Teriyaki Boy’, another restaurant chain that specialises in Japanese-themed fast-food.
Throughout 2006 PHI expanded the number of retail outlets to around 100, with chairman and chief executive Martin P. Lorenzo aiming to roll out the franchise into Malaysia and possibly Singapore over the next few years. Lorenzo is also looking for further acquisition opportunities in the casual-dining sector.
