Accutest (www.accutestindia.com) is a Mumbai-based Clinical Research Organisation (CRO) conducting bioavailability and bioequivalence (BA/BE) studies for the pharmaceutical industry. Such studies are required to test the efficacy of off-patent drugs before they can be launched onto the market. The company also conducts clinical trials and has recently branched out into formulation development.
Founded in 1998 by Dr. Santosh Joshi and Dr. Satish Sawant, Accutest has grown steadily and now operates in Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad. It has also entered into an exclusive strategic alliance with well-known Japanese CRO Fuji Biomedix Co. Ltd., giving it a significant foothold in the world’s second-largest pharmaceuticals market. Over this time it has received 13 US Food & Drug Administration approvals for biostudies of various off-patent drugs and three approvals from the World Health Organisation.
It now has around 110 beds, over 60 employees and was awarded "Best CRO of 2005" by Proximare.
