SA Block is a long-established South African brick manufacturer with its own proprietary process. It makes bricks using clinker – the ash by-product of chain boilers that burn coal to produce steam for electricity generation.
ASAF’s funding is being used primarily to expand the business and capitalise on the vertical integration opportunities within the sector in the run-up to the FIFA soccer World Cup in 2008.
