Aureos is a private equity fund manager providing risk capital for expansion and change-of-control transactions in emerging markets for established businesses in the small to mid-cap segment of the market.
Since inception, Aureos has established 16 new private equity funds with approximately US$ 1.2 billion of funds under management. Aureos forecasts to have US$1.5 billion under management by the end of 2010.
Aureos has 28 offices throughout Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Since 2001 Aureos regional private equity funds have invested just over US$478 million in 101 transactions.
Aureos assumed management of 139 portfolio companies - 'the legacy portfolio' - from CDC Group plc in 2001 with a book value of US$72 million – currently being wound down. Aureos has exited from 133 companies. The expected realised and unrealised cash multiple is 1.97.
Aureos is currently marketing the Africa Health Fund and the Aureos South-East Asia Fund II.
